Cwm Du Glen Falls

What3words for the bench location: foot.sunset.tunnel
The bench on Heol y Ffin, Trebanos depicts the beautiful Cwm Du Glen falls on the Upper Clydach River. The falls are a Swansea Valley hidden gem and are accessed via a public footpath which starts from ‘The Cross’ at Pontardawe town centre, opposite the Dillwyn Arms. There is a circular route to follow through the old Glanrhyd Estate which will take less than an hour at a leisurely pace. There are steps along the route. The Glanrhyd plantation is home to several specimen trees, including Giant Coastal Redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) trees planted by the Gilbertson family which owned the Estate and the town’s old tinworks. There are also remnants of the old estate to see, including a nature pond, ruins of an outdoor swimming pool and a walled garden.
